چکیده

Phytochemicals have demonstrated considerable influence against pathogenic microbes in vitro without antimicrobial resistance. A number of studies also reported an improved growth performance poultry with their supplementation. In vivo efficacy soursop leaf extract (SLE) was evaluated a 49-day study on the (GP), intestinal and morphology broiler chickens. Two hundred day-old chicks (Arbor Acres) were randomly distributed to five treatments four replicates, ten birds each completely randomized design. The included: CTRL (control), 5.0, 7.5, 10.0 12.5% SLE per litre drinking water. Ciprofloxacin 10% administered control group as antibiotics water at 1ml/2L. Feed intake (FI), weight gain (WG) feed conversion ratio (FCR) evaluated. replicate sacrificed day 49 eviscerated. Ileum caeca content collected cultured for total coliforms, Lactobacillus, Salmonella Escherichia coli. Mid-ileum section cut, rinsed distilled fixed formalin evaluation villus height crypt depth. Analysis variance used data analysis p<0.05 confidence. Weight increased from 7.5% while FI reduced 10.0% above giving best FCR SLE. WG, eliminated salmonella coliform (1.30 0.00) ileum section. Total coliforms eliminated, colli decreased (6.02 1.85; 6.91 2.24) It concluded that microbes,

Respiration during Postharvest Development of Soursop Fruit, Annona muricata L.

Fruit of soursop, Annona muricata L., showed increased CO(2) production 2 days after harvest, preceding the respiratory increase that coincided with autocatalytic ethylene evolution and other ripening phenomena. Experiments to alter gas exchange patterns of postharvest fruit parts and tissue cylinders had little success. The respiratory quotient of tissue discs was near unity throughout developm...
